Testimonials
“Janeen Bianco-Splann is a miracle worker! My granddaughter, being diagnosed as having ADD at an early elementary age struggled all through her school years. We knew it was not because she was mentally deficient, but rather her inability to focus and discipline herself. Unknown to her parents, in her senior year at the age of 17, she stopped attending classes. During the pandemic crisis, now at age 20, still living at home, depressed and attracted to other young people who were not motivated, flirting with things of the dark, she came to her parents in distress and admitted she needed help. Because I had known of the work of Janeen Bianco-Splann, I was able to suggest Janeen to them. My granddaughter reluctantly agreed to meet with her at a coffee shop. After that meeting, she agreed to try. She was six classes behind in being able to graduate from high school, but because still under the age of 21, could enroll in online classes. Slowly a miracle happened – with the coaching and encouragement in life management as well as her class studies, this reluctant, aimless and depressed young adult became motivated, gained confidence and succeeded far beyond what she believed possible, and is on the way to soon graduating from high school with high grades.
Janeen’s experience and qualifications exceed the highest standards, but the warmth, acceptance and genuine caring for her students and their well-being, and future is what makes her stand out as a mentor and coach that makes an extraordinary difference in each life.”

“I very much enjoyed reading 48-pages of your students’ interpretations of quotes from The Scarlet Letter. The second part of the assignment to relate the quote to events and feelings in their own lives provides a higher order thinking assignment that is both challenging and interesting to adolescents. Great job!”

“Ms. Bianco-Splann has pushed me as a reader, writer and thinker. She was my first English teacher that loved to write and teach. Her face lights up when she realizes that the class has learned something, and I know she appreciates literature to its fullest. But there is method to her madness, and the end result is my success, my journey and my growth.”
— Alexandria G, Student
“As I look through the portfolio, I had the following question: How did you pull this off Ms. Bianco? This is a great example of beautiful teaching. I would like you to know that I appreciate all that you have done for my son. He conquered a subject that had been a big problem since third grade. Thank you for helping him feel proud of his work and for restoring my faith in the way English is taught to students who find reading and writing difficult.”
— Dennis B, Parent/Board Member

“If you were to ask me what parallel structure was, or how to construct a persuasive argument by appealing to your readers’ pathos, ethos and logos, or given me a short passage from a literary work and asked me to analyze it and pick apart rhetorical devices, I would have either scratched my head until it bled or laughed at you until I was short of breath. But, because of Mrs. Bianco-Splann’s teaching, I can confidently and effectively do all three of those things.”
— Kelsey G, Student
